BIOGRAPHY

Chiara Fiorani is a lyric-light coloratura soprano from Palermo, Italy. She began her vocal studies in Termini Imerese before continuing her training at the Conservatory of Palermo, where she earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Opera Singing with highest honors.

In 2025, she attended the “Rodolfo Celletti” Academy for Advanced Training for Opera Singers in Martina Franca. She currently continues her vocal development under the guidance of Maestro Gianluca Valenti.

Throughout her career, she has built a broad and diverse repertoire, with a particular focus on Mozart and bel canto roles. At the Teatro Massimo di Palermo, she performed Celidora in L’oca del Cairo by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Violetta in Giovanni Paisiello’s Il duello comico, and Bastiana in Mozart’s Bastiano e Bastiana. In 2019, she appeared as Amital in Mozart’s oratorio La Betulia liberata at the Teatro Politeama Garibaldi di Palermo, accompanied by the Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana.

In 2020, she performed the roles of the Rose and the Fox in Enrico Melozzi’s The Little Prince at the Salone Margherita in Rome. In 2022, she made appearances at the Teatro Coccia di Novara as Maria in Joe Schittino’s Valigie d’occasione and Berenice in Gioachino Rossini’s L’occasione fa il ladro.

In 2023, she made her debut as Königin der Nacht in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, one of the signature roles of her repertoire, at the Teatro Sociale di Como and in the theatres included in the Opera Domani tour. That same year, she performed Papagena in Die Zauberflöte at the Teatro Sociale di Como, Teatro Ponchielli di Cremona, Teatro Grande di Brescia, and Teatro Fraschini di Pavia, later reprising the role at the Teatro Verdi di Trieste. Also in 2023, she performed Reinhold Glière’s Concerto for Coloratura Soprano and Orchestra, Op. 82 for the Luglio Musicale Trapanese.

In 2024, she sang Adina in Gaetano Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore at Spazio Teatro 89 in Milan and made her debut as Frasquita in Georges Bizet’s Carmen at the Arena di Verona.

In 2025, she returned to the role of Königin der Nacht in Die Zauberflöte at the Sofia National Opera and Ballet. She also appeared as Berta in Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Teatro Regio di Torino, as Le Feu and Le Rossignol in Maurice Ravel’s L’Enfant et les sortilèges at the Festival della Valle d’Itria in Martina Franca, and as Zerlina in Mozart’s Don Giovanni at the Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova.

In 2026, she performed Flora in Benjamin Britten’s The Turn of the Screw at the Teatro Verdi di Pisa and Euridice in Christoph Willibald Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice at the Teatro Municipale Valli di Reggio Emilia. She also returned to the role of Königin der Nacht in Die Zauberflöte for the Hungarian National Opera’s tour of Japan, appearing at the Festival Hall in Osaka, Aichi Arts Center, and Tokyo International Forum.

Her upcoming engagements include the soprano part in Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 and the role of Gretel in Engelbert Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice.

Alongside her stage career, Chiara Fiorani has received numerous awards and distinctions at national and international singing competitions. In 2018, she was awarded the “Premio Giovani” at the Isabella Colbran Rossini International Opera Competition in Salerno and Second Prize at the Silvia Carrubba International Opera Competition in Trapani.

In 2019, she received the Special AsLiCo Prize at the fourth Andrea Chénier International Opera Competition in Foggia and Second Prize, with no First Prize awarded, at the Città di Penne International Opera Competition.

In 2020, she won First Prize at the Capri Gold Voice International Opera Competition. In 2021, she was awarded First Prize at the Valerio Gentile International Opera Competition in Fasano and was a finalist at the Salvatore Licitra International Competition. In 2022, she won First Prize at the Gino Marinuzzi International Opera Competition and First Prize at the BA Lirica International Voice Competition, as well as the Critics’ Prize, awarded by Giuseppe Montemagno, at the Città di Alcamo International Opera Competition.

In 2024, she received the Illiria Artists Prize, awarded by Elena Bach, at the Marmo all’Opera International Opera Competition in Carrara, and in 2025 she was awarded Second Prize at the Francesco Paolo Neglia International Opera Competition in Enna.

Her continually evolving artistic career has led her to collaborate with major Italian and international musical institutions, performing a repertoire that ranges from the eighteenth century to twentieth-century works, with a particular emphasis on the lyrical and virtuosic qualities of the coloratura soprano repertoire.
